My rural background and gained knowledge of sustainability, functionality and the understanding how the site around an internal space has an impacted on my design. This has shaped my definition of Interior Architecture. It is not only what you design internally within a building, it is also important to include the environment around it: in terms of natural light, wind, view, weather and time; natural changes during each day, week, month and year. In my previous designs I found an unambiguous link between each project, although they had different types of use and requirements. They all can be seen as a sculpture (or sculptures) within a shell with functions according to requirements for their use and building regulations. The use of shapes, textures and surfaces, colours and materials create its final impression for the occupant / visitor.
-We analyse everything around us. As an Interior Architect it is important to understand how characteristic elements have an impact on our impression of a room. The combination of shape, texture, light, size, colour, position, orientation and visual inertia create different sense and experience within a space.
